I'm Marty, otherwise known as Marty McTarty, originally from County Armagh in Ireland. A typical Irish lad, I was born wild, caused plenty of chaos, annoyed the neighbours, but somehow found my place in the kitchen.
My hospitality journey began in 2005, washing dishes at a local restaurant at just 13 years old. It didn't take long to realise I was exactly where I was meant to be, and before long I was working my way through the kitchen, learning from some of the best.
Over the next 20 years, I honed my craft in some of Ireland's and the UK's finest kitchens, picking up a few awards along the way before Australia stole me in 2017.
Fast forward to 2024, and Orchard Tarts was born.
What started as a bit of fun quickly turned into something much bigger. Selling out from day one, Orchard Tarts has grown into a business built on hard work, passion and an obsession with doing things properly. Every tart is still made by hand, baked fresh to order, and crafted with the same attention to detail you'd expect from a fine-dining kitchen, just without the white tablecloths.
At Orchard Tarts, my goal is simple - to make the kind of tarts people remember. Proper pastry, quality ingredients, generous fillings and no shortcuts. Just honest baking done well. Thanks for supporting a small local business and turning my dream into a reality. It genuinely means the world.
